Although parents often have positive intentions, helicopter parenting often results in:
- Lowered family satisfaction
- A critical family environment
- Decreased perceptions of well-being
- Increased levels of psychological adversity (ex. anxiety, stress, depression, and lowered life satisfaction) for the emerging adult child
