Post-Industrial Revolution Global Economic Specialization

As a consequence of the Industrial Revolution, a new global economic structure of specialization emerged. In contrast, the rest of the world was increasingly specialized in agriculture, a sector characterized by slower technological progress, which often resulted in their populations being constrained by a Malthusian trap.
