When you learn something helpful, to share it with other 1Cademists, the very first thing you need to do is "progressive differentiation."
Divide what you learned into many small pieces of information. Each granular piece represents a single concept that we call a node.

Navigate through the 1Cademy map to find the most relevant area. Then, identify one node as the direct prerequisite that without learning it first, it does not make sense to learn your new node. We call that a parent node and the offspring nodes are its children.

Integrative reconciliation in 1Cademy

To create a new node or improve an existing node, you should propose the modification by clicking on the pencil icon in the node's toolbar.

A node in 1Cademy is considered modified under specific conditions. Direct modification occurs when an improvement proposal for the existing node is posted and approved. Indirect modification happens when an improvement proposal for a directly linked parent or child node is approved, or when a parent or child node is deleted.

To share knowledge on 1Cademy, users should follow a systematic procedure. First, apply progressive differentiation to divide the learned information into granular nodes. Next, for each node, perform integrative reconciliation to identify its direct prerequisite on the knowledge map. Finally, propose the new nodes to the map, along with any relevant idea, reference, or question nodes, and suggest improvements to existing content.

Concept mapping on 1Cademy is the process of expanding the knowledge graph by first identifying an essential prerequisite node that learners must study, and then proposing a new node as its direct child.

To change an existing node, any user can propose an edit. Reasons for editing a node include, but are not limited to, improving the content, title, tag, citations, or adding links to other parents and children.

Users can add new child nodes to the map by proposing an addition to the node that contains the prerequisite/parent information. Users do this to expand on the information about a topic and/or fill in information gaps.
