Schizophrenia Patients' Family Members and Care Giver's Mental Health: Family Functioning Factors
The study found that better family functioning, including communication, roles, affective responsiveness, affective involvement, behavior control, general functioning, cohesion, and adaptability, was significantly associated with improved mental health in family caregivers of patients with schizophrenia. However, no significant link was observed between family functioning and caregivers' physical health. The findings suggest that interventions focusing on enhancing family dynamics could be beneficial for supporting the mental well-being of these caregivers.
