Factors Associated with Health in Family Caregivers of People with Schizophrenia
Better family functioning, including adaptability and affective responsiveness, is associated with better mental health among family caregivers of people with schizophrenia. Caregiver education, kinship to the patient, and the patient's number of illness episodes are also associated with caregiver physical health or health-related quality of life. These findings describe associations rather than established causal effects.
