Slope of a Horizontal Line

The slope of a horizontal line, given by an equation of the form y=by = b, is always 00. Because every point on a horizontal line has the same y-coordinate, there is no vertical change between any two points — the rise is 00 regardless of the run. Substituting into the slope formula gives m=0run=0m = \frac{0}{\text{run}} = 0.
