Summary of Union Wage-Setting Impact in the WS-PS Model

In the wage-setting and price-setting (WS-PS) model, the effect of union wage bargaining is to establish a 'bargained wage-setting curve' that is positioned above the original WS curve. The model's equilibrium, found at the intersection of this new curve and the price-setting (PS) curve, results in a lower level of employment while the real wage remains unchanged.
