The Effect of Choosing Versus Receiving Feedback on College Students' Performance - Measures of the Study
Critical feedback measures the number of times that a student chose or received critical feedback. Revision measures the number of times that the student chose to revise a poster (all students had the option to revise their posters). Poster quality measures the poster's performance by evaluating it against a set of 21 graphic design rules, so poster quality can be considered a learning measure. Design duration measures the amount of time students spent designing all posters, including revisions. Poster ranking measures a student's knowledge of design principles, based on a post-test that is independent of the game. Enjoyment measures the enjoyment of designing the posters, on a 1-5 Likert-type response scale (1 = 1 none and 5 = a huge amount), and students answered the enjoyment question after completing the game and post-test.
