The Single-Price Constraint as a Barrier to Pareto Improvements

The primary reason Beautiful Cars does not pursue further Pareto improvements beyond its profit-maximizing output is its adherence to a single-price policy, which requires charging the same price to all customers. If the firm could charge the 32 consumers with the highest willingness to pay $27,200 and then offer lower prices to subsequent consumers, it could increase its profits while also benefiting those new buyers. However, this is not feasible under the single-price rule.
