Air Pollution: Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) (Post-COVID-19)

Researchers studying Rio de Janeiro, Brazil found air quality may have improved as a result of a six week partial lock down due to COVID-19. Despite the results, researchers noted several factors contributed to air pollution, and some values fluctuated greatly.

  • CO levels dropped the most of any pollutant
  • NO2 levels decreased slightly
  • PM10 remained roughly the same
  • O3 levels increased
