Anecdotal reports of cannabinoids as a treatment for Bipolar Disorder
Some individuals with bipolar affective disorder (BAD) have reported using cannabis to manage their symptoms. They preferred cannabis over alcohol, finding it calming and less harmful than other drugs they had tried. Cannabis helped them relax, improve sleep, and reduce speech speed during hypomanic episodes. It also increased their activity level compared to being bedridden. While lithium was effective, it didn't always offer the same level of control.
