Bank's Typology of Ethnic Identity
- consist of six stages of Ethnic identities for assessing an individuals' ethnic identity stage or stages
- Stage 1 and 2: be unable to master two dissimilar cultures; cling to the culture they most iidentity with; reject the culture they less identify with; develop an oppositional attitude to the rejected culture
- Stage 4,5 and 6: be able to master two dissimilar cultures successfully; perform the skills that allow them to be successful in both cultures
