Utility Gain from Increasing Free Time when MRS > MRT

In a scenario where an individual has chosen too little free time, their indifference curve is steeper than the feasible frontier, which means their Marginal Rate of Substitution is greater than their Marginal Rate of Transformation (MRS > MRT). This indicates that the individual's personal valuation of an additional hour of leisure (the MRS) is higher than the amount of goods they must sacrifice to obtain it (the MRT). Therefore, they can move to a higher indifference curve and increase their utility by taking more free time, even at the cost of having fewer goods.
