Challenges in Reproductive Health

Reproductive health presents many challenges for women with disabilities. They often have limited access to sex education and medical support, leading to a lack of knowledge about menstruation, contraception, and pregnancy. When they seek gynecological care, they often face medical bias, including suggestions for sterilization or abortion. These barriers make it hard for them to make informed choices about their reproductive health and to fulfill their roles as mothers. As a result, women with disabilities often feel left out, which reduces their control over their reproductive rights.
