Invisible Sexualities

Disabled women in Japan often struggle to express their sexual lives because society ignores their needs. Social stigma makes it hard for them to talk openly about their desires and relationships. Many people wrongly assume that disabilities mean a lack of sexuality, which affects how these women experience and show their sexual identities. Through interviews, it is clear that discussions about sexuality are often missing from their stories, reflecting how society overlooks their sexual needs. However, some disabled women actively look for ways to connect with their sexuality, showing their strength and resilience in a challenging culture.
