Chronic Sleep Loss: Cognitive Deficits

Chronic sleep loss, which a study revealed that over 70% of adults reported that they suffer from, can be much more conducive to the development of long-term forms of cognitive-impairing illnesses. In the same study to the one found in the "Acute Sleep Loss: Cognitive Deficits" node, participants' sleeping habits were restricted over the course of a week. Tests in cognitive ability revealed diminished attention and working memory, alongside less studied relationships, including visuomotor performance and recall.
