Classification of the Working-Age Population

For analytical purposes, individuals within the working-age population are categorized into three distinct and mutually exclusive groups: the employed, who are currently working; the unemployed, who are not working but are actively seeking employment; and the inactive, who are not participating in the labour force. These classifications provide a snapshot of the labour market at a specific point in time.
