Example of Foot-in-the-Door Technique: Teens' Curfew Request

A frequent real-world application of the foot-in-the-door technique can be seen in interpersonal requests, such as when a teenager first asks their parents for a minor concession, like a small extension to their curfew. After the parents agree to this initial small request, they become more likely to approve a subsequent, more significant request from the teenager.
