Example of Negative Reinforcement: Horse Training
The principles of negative reinforcement are frequently applied in horse training. A rider applies an unpleasant stimulus, such as pressure from the reins or legs, which the horse wants to remove. When the horse performs the correct action, like turning or speeding up, the rider removes the pressure. This removal of the aversive stimulus reinforces the desired behavior.
