Final Inspection Signoff for Electrical Work

The final electrical inspection is the AHJ's confirmation that all installed work meets the locally adopted electrical code. The contractor schedules the final inspection through the jurisdiction's permit portal after completing all electrical work and resolving any prior inspection corrections. A passing final inspection results in a certificate or approval stamp on the permit record. This document is typically required before the owner can obtain a certificate of occupancy and before the contractor can request retainage release. Inspection procedures and certificate formats vary by jurisdiction.
