Humanity's Ecological Footprint Exceeding Planetary Boundaries

Since 1970, human demand on natural resources, referred to as the ecological footprint, has consistently surpassed the Earth's capacity to regenerate those resources. Data from the Living Planet Report 2020 indicates that humanity is overusing the planet's biocapacity by a margin of at least 56%, signifying an unsustainable rate of global production and consumption.
