  • Hierarchical and mixed hypertext structures could have helped nonknowledgeable participants overcome their lack of prior knowledge because nonknowledgeable participants had higher reading comprehension scores under the two hypertext structures compared to the linear text
  • Did not find anything substantial regarding perceived control
  • Under the hierarchical structure, knowledgeable and nonknowledgeable participants opened the same number of nodes
