Mindfulness and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy: Desensitizing Conditioned Fear Responses

Mindfulness attempts to desensitize conditioned fear responses through sustained attention. CBT attempts to directly separate the conditioned fear response from a stimulus, typically through exposure processes. However, both work towards the same goal, desensitizing the conditioned fear response.
