Concept

Non-Dominance of Technology E

Technology E, located at coordinate (10, 1), is a non-dominated production method because no other available technology uses fewer inputs to produce the same output. A technology is considered dominant only if it utilizes less of at least one input without using more of any other. Technology E always presents a trade-off when compared to other viable, non-dominated options like Technology A (1, 6) and Technology B (4, 2). Specifically, Technology E uses less coal than both A and B, but it requires significantly more labor. Since no other technology is located in the graphically dominated area for E (the area above and to its right), it is considered a non-dominated and viable choice for production.
