On-Site Estimating Review for Electrical Projects

On-site estimating review is a firsthand inspection of a job location before finalizing a bid. The estimator should record conditions that may change labor, materials, equipment use, and risk. Useful items to document include site access, distance for temporary power, trenching or excavation difficulty, demolition concerns, routes for moving equipment and materials, roof or crawlspace access, existing equipment details, and photos linked to plan locations. This review is especially important on renovation projects because hidden conditions can create extra cost that is not obvious from the drawings alone.
