Results Hypothesis 5 (Designs of concept maps and their impacts on readers’ performance in memory and reasoning while reading)
These findings support the Fuzzy Trace Theory by showing that reasoning requires some basic memory of the text. But a mental representation too closely resembling the verbatim memory of the text did interfere with the readers’ ability to reason using the information within their memory (this supports Hypothesis 5).
