Sociologists can help members of a design
team understand the implications of this and to operate in the
more abstract realm of designing services, where you are affected
more by relationships among people as well as between users and
objects or interfaces. Although services have been around for a
long time,the sudden expansion of technology enabled services—
and hence service design as a discipline—is still very new

The addition of the expertise of sociologists to a design team
is especially important when the nature of the constraints is
systemic.When we are designing connected systems of products,
services, and spaces, which are used in real time, the brain of any
designer who tries to absorb all of the constraints is likely to
explode. We are better equipped to face the complexity as an
interdisciplinary team, with a collective consciousness, and the
ability to create designs as a group or team rather than as
individuals.

Disciplines in Social science

The tendency for a group of individuals and tribes to form an organized set of rules, formal and informal, around social interactions between the members of that group. Historically these groups were often united under a system of government or shared territorial land, forming bonds of history, religion, laws, and ethical values. In the context of research ethics, society more generally represents one of the primary stakeholder groups affected by the conduct and outcomes of scientific studies.

The study of human behavior, societies, and cultures throughout history (including the present). Anthropology, in broad terms, studies methods to describe and explain the similarities and differences in biology and culture of all humanity in all times and places.

It focuses on understanding how individuals act, think, and feel, along with the underlying cognitive and physiological mechanisms. As a scientific discipline, it seeks to answer fundamental questions about a wide range of human phenomena by relying on empirical evidence rather than common sense.

A system by which the enforcement of ordered rule over a territory is enacted. They enact laws, policy, and have an organized structure for how political power is maintained and passed on.  

Government

A collection of human behaviors and social norms that connect a group of people. These norms can include shared art, law, and beliefs, as well as other mutual commonalities.

Culture as a Sociological Issue

Social psychology is the scientific study of how individuals' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of others. A key focus is on how people conceptualize and interpret situations, and how these interpretations, along with other situational variables, interact to influence behavior within a social context. The field examines how people affect one another, emphasizing the power of the situation in shaping human actions, and explores all facets of personality and social interaction, particularly the influence of interpersonal and group relationships.
