Watson's Behaviorism vs. Freudian Psychoanalysis
John B. Watson's behaviorism presented a fundamental opposition to Freudian psychoanalysis. While Freud sought to understand behavior by exploring the hidden, unobservable processes of the unconscious mind, Watson insisted that psychology should only focus on external, observable, and measurable stimulus-response behaviors to be considered a legitimate science.
