Challenges in Daily Life
Visually impaired women in Nepal face numerous physical, social, and economic challenges. The societal view of disability as a burden significantly impacts their mental health, leading to feelings of isolation and depression. These women struggle with limited mobility, hindering access to education and employment opportunities. Moreover, violence at home and difficulties in travel worsened their hardships. Despite free educational policies, a lack of inclusive facilities such as Braille materials limits their learning opportunities.
