Closing Out Electrical Work After Inspection

A final electrical inspection is the local authority's confirmation that the completed installation complies with the adopted electrical code. After the crew finishes all required work and clears any open correction notices, the contractor books the inspection in the permitting portal. If the inspector passes the job, the permit record is updated with an approval stamp or completion record. That approval is often needed before the owner can receive a certificate of occupancy and before the contractor can collect final retainage. Exact scheduling steps and approval documents can differ from one jurisdiction to another.
