How to Handle a Return Service Call

A return service call happens when a customer asks you to revisit a job after the original work is complete. The first task is to decide whether the issue is covered by the original warranty or should be treated as new billable work. If the problem is caused by something outside the original installation, such as customer damage or work from another contractor, explain that it is not a warranty item and provide a separate estimate. If the visit is covered, complete the repair as warranty work. Keep written notes and photos for every callback so you have a clear record if the billing decision is questioned later.
