COVID-19 on Students of Color: Results: experiencing racial discrimination as a result of COVID-19

The majority of students surveyed witnessed racial discrimination against individuals of Asian descent, followed by Black, other race, and Latinex individuals.

  • 7.25% reported personally experiencing racial discrimination during the pandemic.
  • 52.85% reported directly witnessing racial discrimination during the pandemic.

In terms of the race of person discriminated against:

  • 64.86% of people discriminated against were Asian.
  • 31.53% of people discriminated against were black.
  • 2.7% of people discriminated against were "other race."
  • 0.9% of people discriminated against were Latinex.
