Health Benefits of Perceived Control

A greater sense of perceived control is strongly associated with positive physical health outcomes. Individuals who believe their health is controllable are more inclined to manage it effectively and adopt healthy behaviors. Research links higher perceived control to a reduced risk of various health issues, including declines in physical functioning, heart attacks, cardiovascular disease incidence, and mortality from cardiac conditions.
