[ICD-11] 11. Diseases of the Circulatory System

Description:

  • Conditions that result from diseases of the circulatory system or the organ system responsible for passing nutrients, gases, hormones, blood cells, etc. to and from other cells in the body for the purposes of fighting disease, stabilizing body temperature and pH, and maintaining homeostasis.

Excluded from This List:

  • Certain Infectious of Parasitic Diseases
  • Certain Conditions Originating in the Perinatal Period
  • Congenital Malformations, Deformations, and Chromosomal Abnormalities
  • Complications of Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Puerperium
  • Injury, Poisoning, or Certain Other Consequences of External Causes
  • Endocrine, Nutritional, or Metabolic Diseases
