Description:

  • Injuries that are categorized by the determination of whether the injuries were deliberately inflicted and by whom, for the purposes of identifying intervention opportunities.

Categories of Determination Include:

  • Unintentional (Accidental)
  • Intentional (Deliberate)
  • Interpersonal (Assault, Homicide)
  • Self-Harm (Substance Abuse, Self-Mutilation, Suicide)
  • Legal Intervention (Action by Police or Other Law Enforcement)
  • War, Civil Insurrection, and Disturbances (Demonstrations, Riots)
  • Undetermined Intent
