Inventory in Electrical Contracting

Inventory is the supply of electrical parts and materials a contractor owns but has not yet installed. These items may be stored in a warehouse, placed at a job location, or carried on service vehicles. Since each uninstalled item is money already spent but not yet earned back through completed work, keeping track of inventory is important for accurate job costing and healthy cash flow.
