Real Numbers as Complex Numbers

Any real number can be expressed as a complex number in the standard form a+bia + bi where the value of bb is zero (b=0b = 0). When b=0b = 0, the expression simplifies to a+0i=aa + 0 \cdot i = a, leaving only the real number aa.
