Square Root of a Negative Number Is Not Real

Within the real number system, the square root of a negative quantity does not exist. This is because squaring any real number—whether it is initially positive or negative—always produces a positive result. Therefore, there is no real value that can be squared to yield a negative number, meaning expressions like 25\sqrt{-25} are not real numbers.
