Concept

Root Causes and Aggressors

The study highlights several key factors that lead to high rates of abuse against disabled women. Caregiving stress and financial dependency on abusers are major issues. Many women experience isolation and manipulation from partners or family members, and society often discourages them from recognizing or speaking out about the abuse. Cultural stereotypes that suggest disabled women are less deserving can reinforce these situations, sometimes changing caregivers into abusers without the victims realizing it. To effectively prevent abuse and provide support, we must address these root causes.
