Gender-based Violence Against Women with Disabilities: Prevalence and Experience
Women with disabilities in Chinese communities often face gender-based violence. This study uses surveys and personal interviews to show how common this violence is and its serious effects on their lives. Deeply rooted social norms and dependence on others make their suffering worse. The research explores their struggles, the ways they cope, and the significant obstacles they encounter when trying to get help. It also highlights the urgent need for better policies and support systems to empower these women, giving hope for a future where they can live without fear of abuse.
