Survey Insights into Prevalence
A recent online survey included 80 women with disabilities from Hong Kong and China. It shows how common interpersonal violence is for them. The survey found that 30% of these women have experienced domestic violence, and 34% reported facing sexual harassment. Sadly, most victims did not ask for help, which shows the social and cultural barriers to dealing with violence. The survey also found that the home is the most common place for abuse, often by family members and intimate partners. This highlights the urgent need for support at both family and community levels.
