The Social Readjustment Rating Scale (SRRS) includes many life events that are generally considered positive or pleasant, such as holidays, retirement, and marriage. These events are classified as stressors because they require significant personal adjustment. This type of positive stress, associated with desirable events, is also known as eustress.

Life Change Units (LCUs) are the numerical scores assigned to each of the 43 events on the Social Readjustment Rating Scale (SRRS).
