Writing Expressions in Exponential Form

To write a repeated multiplication expression in exponential form, identify the repeating factor to use as the base, and count the number of times it appears to determine the exponent. For instance, the expanded expression 2222222222 \cdot 2 \cdot 2 \cdot 2 \cdot 2 \cdot 2 \cdot 2 \cdot 2 \cdot 2 has 22 as the repeating factor (base) appearing 99 times, so it is compactly written in exponential form as 292^9. In general, a factor aa multiplied by itself nn times is written as ana^n.
