Simplifying 100(0.7+0.15p)100(0.7 + 0.15p) Using the Distributive Property

When simplifying an expression with decimals such as 100(0.7+0.15p)100(0.7 + 0.15p), the Distributive Property is applied to clear the decimal values. Distributing the 100100 shifts the decimal point two places to the right for each term. Thus, 1000.7100 \cdot 0.7 becomes 7070, and 1000.15p100 \cdot 0.15p becomes 15p15p, resulting in the simplified expression 70+15p70 + 15p.
