Concept

Survey Measure for the Spacing vs. Cramming and LMS engagement study

  • Determined study habit categorization by a survey
  • Q1-“Which of the following best describes your study patterns”-(a) “I most often space out my study sessions over multiple days/weeks” or (b) “I most often do my studying right before the test”
  • Q2-had to pick the top 3 study strategies they used from a list-(a) "Absorbing lots of information the night before the test.", (b) "most often space out my study sessions over multiple days/weeks."
  • Categorized as a spacer if they only selected (b) for Q2 and categorized as crammers if they chose either/both cramming items
  • Surveyed at the beginning and end of the semester
  • Categorized into maintained cramming (cramming both at the beginning and end of the semester), stopped spacing (started out spacing and then cramming at the end of the semester), started spacing (started out cramming and then spacing at the end of the semester), and maintained spacing (spacing at the beginning and end)
  • Analysis focused on maintaining spacing and maintaining cramming
