The Exclusion of Nonverbal Autists from ABA Research

While ABA research indicates that ABA has very high efficacy for treating autism, this efficacy only applies to autists with an IQ of 70 or above. Since IQ is used as a measure of efficacy in these research studies, nonverbal autistic children (specifically those considered lower functioning/untestable) are inherently excluded from these studies.
