چون پدید آمد که آن مسجد نبود
خانهٔ حیلت بد و دام جهود
پس نبی فرمود کان را بر کنند
مطرحهٔ خاشاک و خاکستر کنند
صاحب مسجد چو مسجد قلب بود
دانهها بر دام ریزی نیست جود
گوشت اندر شست تو ماهیرباست
آنچنان لقمه نی بخشش نه سخاست
مسجد اهل قبا کان بد جماد
آنچ کفو او نبد راهش نداد
در جمادات این چنین حیفی نرفت
زد در آن ناکفو امیر داد نفت
پس حقایق را که اصل اصلهاست
دان که آنجا فرقها و فصلهاست
نه حیاتش چون حیات او بود
نه مماتش چون ممات او بود
گور او هرگز چو گور او مدان
خود چه گویم حال فرق آن جهان
بر محک زن کار خود ای مرد کار
تا نسازی مسجد اهل ضرار
بس در آن مسجدکنان تسخر زدی
چون نظر کردی تو خود زیشان بدی
English translation
When it became clear that that was not a mosque, but a house of stratagem and a trap of the Jews, then the Prophet commanded that it be torn down and made a dumping-place for sweepings and ashes. Since the builder of the mosque was false-hearted, like the mosque itself, scattering grain on a trap is not generosity. Meat on your hook is a fish-snatcher; such a morsel is neither giving nor munificence. The mosque of the people of Quba, though it was inanimate, did not admit what was not its equal. Among inanimate things such an injustice did not pass; the prince of justice set naphtha to that unworthy one. Therefore, with realities, which are the root of roots, know that there are distinctions and separations there. Its life is not like that one's life; its death is not like that one's death. Never think its grave is like that one's grave; what can I say of the difference in that world? Put your work to the touchstone, O man of work, so that you do not build a Mosque of Dirar. Many times you mocked those mosque-builders; when you looked closely, you yourself were one of them.
