آمد از حق سوی موسی این عتاب
کای طلوع ماه دیده تو ز جیب

مشرقت کردم ز نور ایزدی
من حقم رنجور گشتم نامدی

گفت سبحانا تو پاکی از زیان
این چه رمزست این بکن یا رب بیان

باز فرمودش که در رنجوریم
چون نپرسیدی تو از روی کرم

گفت یا رب نیست نقصانی تو را
عقل گم شد این سخن را برگشا

گفت آری بندهٔ خاص گزین
گشت رنجور، او منم نیکو ببین

هست معذوریش معذوری من
هست رنجوریش رنجوری من

هر که خواهد همنشینی خدا
تا نشیند در حضور اولیا

از حضور اولیا گر بسکلی
تو هلاکی زانک جزوی بی کلی

هر که را دیو از کریمان وا برد
بی کسش یابد سرش را او خورد

یک بدست از جمع رفتن یک زمان
مکر دیوست بشنو و نیکو بدان

English translation

This reproach came from God to Moses: 'O you who have seen the moon rise from your bosom, I made you a sunrise by divine light— I, the Truth (Haqq), fell ill, and you did not come.'

He said: 'Glory be to You! You are pure of all harm— what riddle is this? Make it plain, O Lord!' Again He commanded him: 'In My illness, why did you not inquire out of generosity?'

He said: 'O Lord, there is no deficiency in You— intellect is lost over this; unveil this speech.' He said: 'Yes — a chosen, elect servant fell ill; that illness is Mine — look well.

His excuse is My excuse, his illness is My illness. Whoever desires the companionship of God, let him sit in the presence of the saints (awliyā').

If you sever yourself from the presence of the saints, you are destroyed — for you are a part without the whole. Whoever the devil separates from the generous ones, he finds him friendless and devours his head.

Going apart from the assembly for even a moment is the devil's trick — hear this and know it well.'
