در خبر است که خدای تعالی فردای قیامت با بنده از مفلسی و بی مایگی شرمنده می گوید که فلان دانشمند یا عارف را در فلان محله می شناختی؟ گوید: آری می شناختم فرمان رسد تو را به وی بخشیدم.
قدر من در صف عشاق تو زان پستتر است

که زنم گام ارادت به مقامات وصول
در دلم نقش شده نام گدایان درت

بس بود نامه احوال مرا مهر قبول

English translation

It is related that God the Exalted, on the morrow of the Resurrection, will say to a servant who is ashamed of his destitution and lack of substance: 'Did you know such-and-such a scholar or mystic in such-and-such a quarter?' He will say: 'Yes, I knew him.' The command will come: 'I have bestowed you upon him' (that is, I have forgiven you for his sake).

My worth in the ranks of Your lovers is too low for me to set the step of devotion toward the stations of union. The names of the beggars at Your door are engraved in my heart; the seal of acceptance is enough for the record of my state.
