Section 3

Original content

English translation

The companion of a king should be a wise man given to thoughtful reflection, not an intimate given to frivolous jesting — for through the former he ascends to degrees of perfection, and through the latter he sinks to depths of deficiency. Every subtle point that comes from the lips of one who knows is a jewel; Happy is he who made his breast a casket-treasury of jewels. The wise heart is a treasury filled with the jewels of wisdom; Do not ever keep this treasury apart from yourself.
